Quitting Smoking With Flower Essences

Smoke Free is a 3 step process, although it is not necessary to do all 3 steps. You can dig in wherever you want. You will need something to address the physical addiction, the flower essences are best used to support your mental state during the process.

Phase 1 is the confidence building motivating phase. You would use this when you want to quit, you know you need to quit, but haven't quite worked up to it yet. Self-Heal builds confidence in yourself and together with Apple, motivates you to do healthy things for yourself, like quitting smoking. Blackberry addresses the procrastination. You can move through this phase fairly quickly. If you are already there and ready to quit then skip ahead to Phase 2.

Phase 2. Ok, you're all fired up and are either going cold turkey or you're cutting down. This is what you take everytime you want a cigarette. Put this in everything you drink (water is best) and carry with you to put straight under your tongue when you need it. You can take this as much as you need, but exceeding 4 drops at a time is not anymore beneficial. This also has Self-Heal in it to keep that "You can do it!" feeling going. The Nicotiana has a long history of being used for tobacco cravings and the Coreopsis has been reported to control cravings in 50% of people in a very unscientific study. Lettuce soothes the central nervous system, facilitates the release of chemical addiction, and stimulates endorphin production and is good for stress. Pear is helpful during extreme stress. So what's missing? I don't have a flower for breaking repetitive patterns such as use of hands or specific situations or times of the day. If this is a big issue for you I recommend Bach's Chestnut Bud. You could add 4 drops to your Phase 2 bottle, shake it up and you are good to go. Do not quit Phase 2 too soon, there is no hurry in getting to Phase 3. If you have leftover Phase 2 you can always use this later as a general stress fighter.

Phase 3 is put together to help you heal after you've gotten totally free from it. Lungwort helps move and distribute energy in co-ordination with the breathing process and move blockages out of your system. You'll become more aware of your breath and this would make various breathing therapies more effective. Then you have Borage for the heart. I left the Self-Heal in because it stimulates the body's healing process and it's a really good essence to be on long term. Nicotiana also should be used for all stages of tobacco recovery and long term for heavily addicted users.
On a side note, I've been using Al Sear's PACE program which is exercise to increase your lung capacity. The size of your lungs is a marker of how long you'll live. Since I've been doing this (3 weeks at this writing) I notice I breathe deep and easy, therefore it spills over into sleeping better and being less stressed.
